About Us

We are a coed Sea Scout Ship chartered in New Port Richey, Florida at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs (TPCOSS). Our Ship welcomes young men and women ages 14–20 who are interested in adventure, leadership, and life skills—on and off the water. We meet regularly during the school year on Monday evenings from 6:30pm–8:00pm, along with fellowship activities, service projects, and weekend outings throughout the year, including summer adventures on the water. We are part of the Suncoast District of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.

Although we are chartered through TPCOSS, you do not need to attend or be a member of the church to join our Ship—we welcome youth of all faiths and backgrounds. While our Ship may be newer, our founding leadership brings many years of experience across Scouting programs and large units. Our leaders have completed advanced training and are regularly recognized by our local council for excellence in program delivery and leadership. We are excited to offer young people the opportunity to grow through the Sea Scouts program, which blends traditional Scouting values with nautical skills, outdoor adventure, and hands-on leadership.

The mission of Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Sea Scouts shares this mission, emphasizing the four aims of Scouting: character development, citizenship, personal fitness, and leadership. These aims are achieved through experiential learning, youth-led activities, outdoor and maritime programs, advancement, association with trained adult leaders, personal growth, leadership development, and wearing the Sea Scout uniform with pride.

We welcome youth ages 14–20 (or 13 and completed eighth grade), including home-schooled students. New members may join at any time during the year. Sea Scouts is a great next step for Scouts transitioning from Scouts BSA, as well as for youth who are brand new to Scouting and eager to explore boating, seamanship, service, and leadership.

Our Ship is supported by dedicated, trained volunteers who work closely with our Sea Scouts to help them live the Scout Oath and Law while developing confidence and real-world skills. All adult leaders complete Youth Protection Training and background checks through Scouting America and follow strict two-deep leadership guidelines at all activities. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where every Sea Scout can thrive while building lifelong friendships and leadership skills.
